ATHENS, GA. August 22nd, 2025 - 106.1 WNGC and 960 The Ref are proud to announce the 4th Annual esp Radiothon, a two-day fundraising event benefiting Extra Special People, Inc. (esp). The Radiothon will be broadcast live on August 28th and 29th, bringing the community together to support programs that empower individuals of all abilities and their families.
This year’s event is presented by Akins Ford of Winder, Mission Construction, Roofing and Exteriors and Bobcat of Athens & Shoemaker Equipment, whose generous support helps make the Radiothon possible.
Listeners will hear inspiring stories from esp participants, families, and staff, and will have the opportunity to donate by phone, online, or in person. Every dollar raised will go directly toward funding esp’s year-round programs, camps, and events that create transformative experiences for children and young adults of all abilities.

The 4th Annual esp Radiothon will air on 106.1 WNGC and 960 The Ref from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Donations can be made during the broadcast or anytime by texting esp to 44321 or by calling in to the Bobcat of Athens & Shoemaker Equipment Hooray Hotline.
