Global tech company Spectrum Control auctions specialist equipment with NCM Auctions as it consolidates UK sites
DONCASTER, UK. 23rd February 2024 - Auction and asset management specialists NCM Auctions are working with world-leading experts in the electromagnetic spectrum, Spectrum Control, as they consolidate their UK testing and development sites.

The global technology company, headquartered in Pennsylvania, USA, manufactures specialist RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security technologies to ensure highly reliable radio signal transmission for critical defence, commercial, industrial, and aerospace applications worldwide.

Spectrum Control has appointed NCM to extend the lifecycle of their surplus assets and specialist equipment as the company consolidates its manufacturing operations to its Great Yarmouth site and relocates to a new Design and Development Hub in Milton Keynes.

The online auction includes specialist lab and testing equipment such as environmental test chambers, thermal shock ovens, shielded enclosures, microscopes, fume extractors and protective flight cases, along with more general items like office furniture, workbenches, air conditioning units, forklifts and lifting equipment and a 1,400 sq m mezzanine floor.

Amy Rutherford from NCM Auctions explains:
“We’re delighted to be working with Spectrum Control on this auction. It includes a lot of expert lab equipment that is rare to market. Their actions to dispose of this surplus equipment in an environmentally friendly way means we can extend the equipment’s lifecycle as it’s repurposed and reused by our auction buyers.

We’re seeing a lot of interest from colleges, universities and specialist training facilities. This auction also includes building fixtures and fittings, including the mezzanine floor, air conditioning units, lots of furniture and storage items, which are always in high demand from our network of buyers.”

Danny Docwra HS&E and Facilities Manager at Spectrum Control added:
“We are very happy to have appointed NCM Auctions on our behalf to assist in our consolidation activities, their views on sustainability and reduction of environmental impacts align with our business’ own environmental targets. We look forward to seeing assets that served us so well going to other businesses that can benefit from them as opposed to going to landfill.”

The online auction for Spectrum Control is due to end on 1 March.
