NODABL Launches Private LTE Network for Port O’Connor Improvement District
First such state-of-the-art network deployed by a Texas Municipal Utility District

WAXAHACHIE, TEXAS, March 28th, 2024 - NODABL Networks, Inc. (NODABL) - a company dedicated to providing private LTE and 5G networks as a managed service - announces the launch of a private LTE network for the Port O’Connor Improvement District (POCID) - a Municipal Utility District committed to providing high quality water and sewer services to the community of Port O’Connor, Texas.

The LTE network utilizes the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (Band 48) spectrum and Nokia’s Digital Automation Cloud technology to provide secure, private, cellular connectivity to all POCID fixed and mobile assets spread across the community. Assets as far away as four and half miles from the base station site have network connectivity. The state-of-the-art LTE network is future-proof and is software upgradable to 5G.

The primary use of the network is to securely support POCID’s increasingly complex operations and growing SCADA needs. First Responders in the coverage area can also optionally use the network as backup for data communication during emergencies.

“Implementation of the network by NODABL and Victoria Communication Services (VCS) brings us one step closer to our vision of expanding SCADA to additional sites and leveraging technology to provide our staff with mobile, real time operational visibility,” said POCID Board President Mr. Danny McGuire. “We are happy to additionally serve our community by providing an option for back-up connectivity to First Responders during emergencies.

“NODABL is pleased to be of service to such a forward-thinking municipal organization,” said NODABL CEO Dr. Aroon Tungare. “This deployment demonstrates that private LTE and 5G networks are cost-effective and make business sense for even smaller organizations and communities. The Port O’Connor private LTE network can be the model for other Municipal Utility Districts and communities not just throughout Texas but across the nation.”
