Ambitious growth targets for oneNDA set after successful launch
A significant and growing group of in-house and private practice lawyers have come together to create a universally standardised and agreed upon Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that addresses a pressing need to reduce rudimentary legal work, while increasing transparency and speeding up business processes.
The initiative, known as oneNDA, is led and co-founded by Electra Japonas and Roisin Noonan, CEO and COO of The Law Boutique respectively. OneNDA has attracted global interest since its launch on 15 February, with 600 businesses having already signed up, including 100 in just 24 hours from launch. The aim is to have 1000 companies adopt the oneNDA as their organisational standard by the end of December 2021.
Today, OneNDA announces the organisations which have joined its Steering Committee, a group of private practice, in-house lawyers and research partners from some of the world’s most well-known organisations. The Steering Committee will help to spearhead the initiative and work to refine oneNDA, before rolling it out even more widely. The full list of organisations in the Steering Committee can be found on the website
, and includes lawyers from Barclays, UBS, EY, American Express, Bupa, Deliveroo, Airbus, Coca-Cola European Partners and Coca-Cola Amatil, as well as law firms Slaughter and May, Linklaters, Ashurst, Norton Rose Fulbright and Gilbert+Tobin.
oneNDA is a peer-to-peer, legal community led initiative. The initiative was borne out of the frustration felt by all lawyers at the amount of time wasted reviewing documents which are largely the same, rarely litigated and add little value (and which, in most cases, slow down global commerce). Electra and Roisin believe that lawyers’ time can be better spent, and businesses can be more productive, with a single NDA.
Electra Japonas, Co-Founder of oneNDA and CEO of The Law Boutique, said: “The most exciting bit about it is seeing the legal community really pull together in such an incredible way, from law firms, to in-house counsel to legal tech vendors – the support has been unbelievable…it’s amazing to see how committed we all are to making this happen.”
