Tiffin, the UK’s largest independent sandwich manufacturer company, is keeping COVID-19 staff fed and watered across the UK with the delivery of more than 40,000 food grab bags every week. Having been awarded the contract to supply food and drinks to centre staff, Tiffin turned to its ePOD partner. Order information is automatically uploaded into PODFather every afternoon from Tiffin’s inhouse production system. The PODFather system is then used to produce routes for the following day. “After a certain time all the information is uploaded straight into PODFather from our production system we can get route planning straight away,” adds Haycock. “Add in all the other processes that PODFather has helped us with and you start to see just how far reaching the benefits really are within our business.”
Once the vehicles are loaded and ready to head out on the road the Tiffin drivers use the PODFather app to capture any photographs which are automatically uploaded straight to the management team. During the day the driver app, which runs on even the most basic of smartphones, tracks driver locations and when deliveries are completed it also allows the Tiffin team to capture drop location confirmation, proof of delivery signatures and photos. All information is sent back to the depot in real time.
